Frequently asked questions
Which audio formats are supported?
WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, and M4A. Maximum file size is 2GB.
How does automatic transcription work?
It uses OpenAI Whisper. You need your own API key (you can create one for free on OpenAI). It supports 12 languages and automatic language detection.
What are tiers?
They are annotation layers on the waveform. You can have independent layers for phonetics, grammar, pragmatics, etc. Each layer has segments with start and end time.
Which formats can I export?
EAF (ELAN-compatible), TextGrid (Praat), JSON, CSV, and TSV. You can choose which layers to include in the export.
Can I share my projects?
Yes. You generate a read-only link so others can see the waveform and annotations without editing.
Are my data safe?
Your OpenAI key is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Audio files are stored encrypted in S3. We never share your data.
